Results- 2007 USPF Nationals


In the July 23rd Maryland Powerlifting News Letter, an agenda was published for the USPF NGB meeting that was scheduled for August 10th. which included the following (note, this information has since been removed from the USPF site where it was originally posted):

1. Meeting called to order
2. Roll call of voting members
3. Reading of minutes of the National Committee meeting held in Chester, WV on 19 Aug 2006.
4. Treasurer's report
5. By Law Amendments: No Bylaw amendments were submittedNew Business
6. Item 1: Allow for the use of multi-ply lifting gear in the USPF. (submitted by Mike Kenney)
7. Item 2: Allow for the use of the monolift in USPF contests. (submitted by Mike Kenney)
8. Item 3: Provide meet directors the option of offering unequipped divisions in 2008 once the court order restricting us from doing so is vacated. (submitted by Steve Denison)Special Orders:

The office of the President is up for election. Steve Denison will be running for President.


The following notes from that meeting was shared by Steve Denison:

Multi-ply gear was turned down. Lack of a 2nd motion.

Monolift was approved with the condition that lifters would still have to walk the weight out. The monolift arm/lever could not be used.

Unequipped or raw lifting was turned down. Lack of a 2nd motion.

Under new business: It was proposed from EC member, Ted Isabella from Rhode Island, that the "Press" command in the bench be eliminated and we go back to Start and Rack. This new proposal passed and is effective as of today. Aug 13 for all future meets. If lifters need a press command, coaches can provide one from off the platform.

The election for USPF President was won by Dave Jeffrey for another term.
