2008 USAPL Maryland State Championships;
November 22, 2008

Information on Parking for the Novmber 22nd USAPL Maryland State Powerlifting Championships

According to the meet director, Garrett Jacks, the Navy Wrestling Classic is also going on inside Halsey Field house at the same time as this Saturday's powerlifting meet. This means that parking is going to be nonexistent due to the fact that wrestling gets priority over powerlifting (at the Naval Academy, Wrestling is varsity...powerlifting is club). It is advised that people park somewhere down the street from Gate 1, or in downtown Annapolis. The parking situation was discussed with senior leadership at Navy and that was what was advised.

For entry into Gate 1, walking or driving, everyone must have valid identification (driver's license).

Garrett Jacks and Joshua Valiani of Navy Powerlifting are the meet directors for this year's Maryland State Powerlifting and Bench Press Championships. The roster will be limited to the first 60 entrants.

The meet will be competed in two sessions;

Session One - 181 and below
1st session weigh-ins 7:00am-8:30am
1st session rules briefing 8:30 -8:45am
1st session lifting starts 9:00am

Session Two - 198 and above
2nd session weigh-ins 11am-12:30pm
2nd session rules briefing 12:30-12:45pm
2nd session lifting starts 1:00pm

Entry deadline is November 10, 2008.

USA Powerlifting's 2008 American Open National Championships is December
13th & 14th in St. Louis, MO.

WHO
The American Open is for all lifters who have NOT obtained an Elite USAPL
total in the last 3 years in any weight class. Guest lifter spots are
available for elite-level lifters. No qualifying total or contest is
required. Lifters must be USAPL members. Membership applications and/or
renewals will be available at the meet.

AWARDS
Awards given for First thru Fifth places finishers. Best Lifter awards
for male & female in Teen, Open, Master.

SPECTATORS & COACHES
Spectators $10 for the weekend. Children 7 and under free. 2 coaches
passes will be issued for each team entry. No coaches passes for
individual lifters. No daily spectator rate.

RULES
All IPF/USAPL rules will apply. Lifters must wear a singlet. 10% of
athletes will be urinalysis drug tested.

ENTRY FEE
ENTRIES MUST BE POSTMARKED BY NOVEMBER 21st, 2008. No refunds. $65.00
(includes 1 Meet T-Shirt). $20 for each additional division. Team entry
$65.00. Team roster must accompany entry.

MEET T-SHIRT
Official, commemorative T-Shirts are available for sale. Pre-ordering is
recommended since a limited number will be available for $15 on meet days.
$12-Adult S, M L, XL, XXL, XXXL.
