IPF TUE + IPF Medical Impairment Documentation- From Robert Keller;
I am enclosing a message from Mr. Detlev Albrings, the President of the IPF. Please take note of the outlined procedures for obtaining either an IPF TUE and IPF Medical Impairment document.
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
Unfortunately we have recognized that athletes participating at World and Regional Championships have no knowledge about TUEs and the impairment form. Also they cannot present the right forms at the doping control or at the jury desk.
Attached you will find:
1) TUE application form: Please refer to to the explanation on the WADA-Homepage:
WADA Exemptions
Every athlete, who is concerned of this matter must fill out the TUE application form and send it to Bernie Miller (Chairman IPF Medical Committee) for examining and approval. TUE forms, which are on national level approved are not valid for the IPF and will not accepted.
2) Impairment form: According our Technical Rules "IPF Technical Rules, section POWERLIFTS AND RULES OF PERFORMANCE, Bench press 9. "If anatomically, the arms cannot be fully extended the lifter must produce a certificate issued by the Medical Committee". This form must be filled out by the concerned athlete and send to Bernie Miller for examination and approval.
If the IPF Medical Committee approves that the athlete cannot fully extend his arms, he/she will gets a certificate.
This certificate must be presented to the referees and Jury at the competition. Furthermore the athlete shall show to the referee before his attempt that he/she is not able to fully extend his/her arms.
Medical certificate of the athlete's doctor, X-rays or other documents will not accepted. Only the certificate of the MC is a valid document.
Please inform your athletes (especially your masters athletes) about this procedures.

INFO ABOUT THE 2008 NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD PROFESSIONAL DEADLIFT COMPETITION
In the 5th year of this deadlift competition, some big changes are taking place. There will be the NOTLD “Glory” meet which will be a USAPL sanctioned deadlift only meet that will be the only deadlift only qualifier for the GNC Pro Performance Professional Deadlift Competition (to be held at the Arnold Fitness Expo in Columbus, Ohio in March, 2009) east of the Rocky Mountains. There will also be the traditional unsanctioned NOTLD meet this year referred to as “Greed” later on October 25th.
NOTLD “GLORY” MEET
This meet has been termed the “Glory” meet because it is designed for those lifters that want to experience the ultimate glory of competing on the largest stage in powerlifting for significant amounts of cash against some of the greatest lifters in the world. This meet will be a USAPL sanctioned deadlift only meet that will be the only deadlift only qualifier for the GNC Pro Performance Professional Deadlift Competition (to be held at the Arnold Fitness Expo in Columbus, Ohio in March, 2009) east of the Rocky Mountains. This meet will be held on Saturday September 20th in Elizabethton, TN. This meet is designed only for those that want a chance to compete on the Arnold Expo stage (which draws 150,000 lifters annually) for the huge cash awards (last year the GNC deadlift meet gave away $7,500 to its competitors). Everyone is welcome to lift at this meet even if they have never been a USAPL member as USAPL cards will be available at the meet.
How to Get Qualified for the Arnold
The sole reason for this meet is to get people qualified in a deadlift only meet for the GNC deadlift competition at the Arnold. The requirements for males to be selected for that meet are a 705 lb. deadlift and a minimum 200 Wilkes score, for females a minimum 200 Wilkes score is required. Out of that pool, 10-12 male and 5 female lifters will be chosen based on best Wilkes score from the USAPL to compete against invited foreign IPF lifters from member nations. Any lifter is welcome at this meet, but most lifters will be shooting for that 705+ and/or 200+ Wilkes lift under USAPL conditions.
Competition Format
Of course the meet will feature all of the hallmarks of a traditional USAPL meet with the 2 hour weigh ins, singly ply polyester lifting suits, a minimum of 10% of the competitors drug tested, etc.; but it will also still feature the celebrated NOTLD format. We will still have the fog machine, the loud music, the house lights down, the spot lights on, the large and rowdy crowds, the lifter introductions, huge display screen, etc. If you think the production value of this meet is going to change just because it is USAPL sanctioned, then you are sadly mistaken.
Awards
Of course the big prize is qualifying for a chance to go to the Arnold and compete on the largest stage in strength sports. There will however be medals presented to the top 5 lifters based on Wilkes score and the top 3 lifters based on heaviest lift. There will also be a monetary award of a minimum of $250 for the best Wilkes coefficient and the $250 for the heaviest deadlift.
