IPF News:
Clarification when and where world records may be attempted:

We have recognized that there are some misinterpretations regarding establishing World or Regional records on National Championships. To give you an easy guide, when the IPF is accepting World an Regional records, here the list of National Championships (Powerlifting and BenchPress) were the IPF Record Registrar will accept World and Regional records:

National Championships for Men
National Championships for Womenor
National Championships for Men & Women (combined)

National Championships for Sub-Juniors
National Championships for Juniorsor
National Championships for Sub-Juniors & Juniors (combined)

National Championships for Masters Men
National Championships for Masters Women or
National Championships for Masters Men & Women (combined).

This definition is valid beginning 1st of January 2008. All other Technical Rules regarding World and International Records (refer to TR page 32-33) are further on valid and must be also considered when your federation applies for World and Regional Records.
