Update: USAPL Maryland State Powerlifting and Open Bench Press Championships;

APT is a sponsor for this year's USAPL Maryland State Powerlifting and Open Bench Press Championships. Thanks to APT, I will be giving away, to the first thirteen competitors entered into this meet, a pair of Convict Pro wrist wraps. I want to thank Allen Thomas (CEO) for sending me these great wraps.

APT provides support , sponsorships and quality products to the strength building community. Please take a moment to visit the APT website (click on logo!). APT is on the IPF approved list.

APA Eastern United States-California, MD;
On Saturday, October 13, I attended the APA meet in California, MD. Approximately 15 lifters competed on the platform at Maximum Fitness. I wasn't able to take many notes because it was an honor to be asked to judge lifts and spent the entire meet in the chair. While the lifting was intense, each of the competitors seemed to have a great time. A great crowd gathered to watch the meet. I got to meet a lot of great people and see some great lifting. I want to thank Steve and Patricia for making me feel welcomed. It never ceases to amaze me how great powerlifting people are. And it was great to finally meet Scott Taylor. If you haven't lifted in an APA meet in the past, I encourage you to check one out! Prior to leaving yesterday, plans were already being put into motion to schedule another meet soon.

Help Wanted!;
There are a lot of meets scheduled over the next couple of months. It is important to the success of those meets that they get support in the form of volunteer help so that those who will be lifting can have the best possibility of achieving success on the platform. If you can judge lifts, spot-load, work the scorers table, help set-up and break down meet sites or just show up and support your fellow lifter, please contact me or one of the state chairmen (a list is at the message board)

Reminder; Don't forget to write your Maryland State representatives and let them know your view on the Governor's proposal to tax gym memberships. (see Mid-week Report 10/11)
