News Letter 9/10/07

Update; Maryland State Powerlifting Championships
I spoke with the management at the Lodge last Thursday. While I do have a verbal agreement, we still haven't firmed up the date with anything formal as of this date. When I first got "penciled in for December 8th," they wanted to wait until September to make final arrangements. And I'm still "penciled in." Once I can get them to agree to formalizing with a contract, I will be distributing entry packets. It is my hope that I will be contacted this week.

In the wake of releasing his 2nd newsletter, Eric Talmant responds to three items that has caused the most concern for some lifters who are considering participating in the Raw Unity Meet. Those concerns are; 1) Tested vs Non-tested, 2) having Ed Coan serve as a referee at this meet and the possible consequences that may occur if USAPL/IPF lifters participate and 3) the date of the meet and conflicts with previously scheduled meets. USPF News:
The USPF has closed the official message board they opened earlier this year and have replaced it with a new website. The new site is still under construction. It does have a new forum for members to post messages.

The Saga Continues...,
In what appears to be a response to Ernie Frantz's announcement that he will be starting a new federation, Kieran Kidder posted his account of the transaction in which he purchased the WPC and took control of the APF from Ernie Frantz at the WPC-APF message board. In opening his account, Kidder accuses Frantz of being "a desperate liar!!" Also, long-time Executive Consultant, Amy Jackson announced that she will remain loyal to the APF/WPC and does not support Frantz's effort to start another federation. Kidder also affirms that Jackson will continue to serve in her capacity as Office Manager and will continue to receive a salary for her efforts.

From APT:
Alan has released his most recent News Letter with some great offers. Featured are the recent addition of the APT "Super Heavy Duty" knee and elbow sleeves. Knee sleeves are now permitted in the USAPL when competing raw/unequipped.
note; you will will need to copy and paste the links to your browser..., I'm still experimenting with the Mid-Atlantic site)
