News Letter-Mid Week Edition 7/5/07
S.K. is a great announcer, but needs to keep his opinions to himself. Bottom line he has never even registered an official attempt, works at Starbucks, and has no business critiquing any lifter geared/raw. Good riddance!!"
Despite the loss of exposure for an already ailing federation, Kidder finds some humanity to compliment his offender by saying the he is a great announcer! But significantly, it highlights the idea that for some, they're in powerlifting for selfish reasons alone. He is willing to sacrifice the efforts of those who would have followed his lead into this meet because his feelings got hurt. Sad! It resonates of history when one couldn't have things all their way, they went off and started another federation. What did Winston Churchill say anyway? And when will maturity catch up with some of these adults?

APF News:
Kieran Kidder announced the following at GoHeavy.com:
The timeframe of the APF Teenage Nationals at the Supershow Expo is conflicting with summer footbal practice, and school starting the following weekend. So after talking with some of my Texas contacts we decided a few weeks after the THSPA State Championship would be a better time to run the meet, which is mid-April. Date/time/place TBA. Thank you.

IPF News:
Press Release- Termination of the suspension of the Russian and Ukrainian Powerlifting Federations on 1st of September 2007
I would like to explain why the IPF Executive Committee has decided to terminate the suspension:
1) As you know the IPF-EC had first warned the Russian and Ukrainian Powerlifting Federations regarding their doping failures. In May 2006 the IPF-EC pronounced judgment, suspending the Russian and Ukrainian PF's beginning 1st of September 2006. The suspensions end on 31st of December 2007.
2) Both Federations received from the IPF-EC a list of requirements and conditions regarding their fight against doping.
3) At the Men’s and Women’s World Championships 2006 in Stavanger, both federations reported to the IPF-EC their goals and their problems with their National Olympic Committees and Ministries of Sport which was cause for the IPF suspension. They requested that we terminate the suspension on 31st of December 2006. The IPF-EC denied this request, proposed a compromise, and to talk about the improvements of both federations in the fight against doping at the World Bench Press Championships 2007 in Denmark.
4) In the meantime both federations have carried out Doping tests at their National Championships, observed by independent Anti-Doping agencies and the IPF. They also carried out OCT tests. They have also regularly reported their improvements to the IPF General Secretary.
5) In Denmark the IPF-EC examined all documents and reports, and the conclusion was to terminate the suspension on 1st of September 2007. A probationary period will end on 31st of December 2008. If one lifter is found positive at International or Regional level or at OCT-tests carried out by the IPF, they will immediately be suspended again for a one year period. Further, both federations must also enforce their Anti-Doping program including OCT-tests of their international lifters and must send as hitherto reports about their Anti-Doping program to the IPF General Secretary.
I hope this clarifies the questions in regard to this matter.
