News Letter 6/4/07

Congratulations: To the lifters, the organizers and the ADAU for a great National Championship powerlifting meet. The ADAU held their 2007 National Championships in Hagerstown this past weekend. Kevin Prosser (State Chairman) did a great job in hosting this competion. The meet was planned, held and competed on a grand scale befitting of a National Championship. It was not noticed that he was short of one of the most saught after commodities in powerlifting and that is help with running a meet. The venue was at the Clarion Hotel and one of the most intense competitions developed inside the vast ballroom where the meet was held that I've witnessed recently. The competitors, despite being locked into tight battles for 1st place, were very suportive of each other and brought back fond memories of meets competed in the past. Kevin and a small, but dedicated group of powerlifters, pitched in and made it happen over the two days the meet was held for their brothers and sisters in the iron game!

More to come...,

IPF World Bench Press Championships- there were a LOT of disqualified lifts and bomb-outs at this years meet. Has the new rules that went into effect this year caused confusion or is it a matter of the lifters adjusting that has caused this high number of disqualified lifts? Discuss it here.

Kirk Karwoski in Perfomance Press- Captain Kirk appears on the cover of the March edition of John Parrillo's, Performance Presss. Inside, starting on page 4, in "Hall of Fame Powerlifter," the question is asked; "Does this man have the strongest legs?"
