Special USAPL 2007 Women's National Edition

This years' USAPL Women's Nationals Powerlifting Championship will feature 6 women from Maryland:

Cathy Solan 48.0 kg (105) Mt. Airy, Md- Master 45-49
Marlena Daniel 52.0 kg (114) Columbia, Md- Teen 1
Sioux-z Hartwig-Gary 52.0 (114) Rockville, MD- Open *Team Titan*
Caryn Daniel 67.5 kg (148) Columbia, MD- Master 40-44
Marsha Sierre 75 kg (165) Laurel, Md- Master 60-64
Julie Scanlon 82.5 (181) Clinton, MD- Open

Activities leading up to competition include; referee testing, early equipment check, rules briefing and the Women's Committee meeting on Thursday. Competition begins on Friday at noon with one session and continues through Saturday and Sunday with two sessions each day. This is the first year that the Women's Nationals have been competed over a three day period.

The USAPL Virgina Open (see Virginia Powerlifting News 2/12/07) was competed on Saturday, February 3rd and featured Julie Scanlon qualifying for the upcoming USAPL Nationals. Julie went 9 for 9 hitting 435 in the squat, 320 in the bench and 440 in the deadlift for a 1195 total.
