News Letter 1/29/07

Parts 3 & 4 of my '06 journal have been posted at the message board.

I've listed upcoming local, regional and national meets with this news letter. Upon completing the list, I wondered how redundant it was to list them here and on the calendar as well. Unless the readers would like to see them listed here too, in the future, I will only note when the calendar is updated.

If you feel that you have a World Record in the bench, deadlift, squat or strict curl and it has not been posted please do the following: e-mail them with the date, name of the meet, where it was held, the meet director and record you believe you hold. E-mail the meet director of the meet you set the record in and ask him/her to send Karen or Jane a copy of the meet results. Copy your request to the meet director to Karen & Jane. World Records will only be changed if they have a copy of the meet results sent to them by the meet director. It is their goal - after February 24th - to update the records at the end of every month. MEET DIRECTORS: Please be sure to send them the results of your meet within two weeks of its completion. If there are any questions, pleas e-mail Karen or Jane. News from the World Around Us:
Powerlifting Watch for news, comments and opinions.

Powerlifting legend Jim Williams died at the age of 65 last week. Powerlifting Watch covered the passing of Williams with two articles; the first which included historical documentation of Williams' career and included links to American Powerlifting Evolution and Dave Draper's site where documentation, pictures and stories of William's powerlifting career can be found, then a second post in which the Times-Tribune pays tribute to Williams.

note; opinions expressed in articles written by others and posted here on Maryland Powerlifting does not necessarily reflect those of Maryland Powerlifting.

Coming Events:
