IPF News:
The IPF has released an updated list of approved equipment and the Technical Committee has released the Technical Newsletter No 1, 2007. An overview of all the various changes that were passed at the IPF Congress is presented.
Notable changes include the following:
1) Deletion of fourth attempts and references throughout the rule book.
2) Deletion of the 44 kg class for Open and Master’s Women.
3) Deletion of the 52 kg class for Open and Master’s men.
4) Records to exceed existing by 1 kg and all references throughout the book.
5) Safety stands attached to the bench must be used in all events.
6) Head to be in contact with the bench prior to the start and throughout the lift.
7) Feet to be flat on the floor
8) No foot movement
9) Audible “Press” signal.
10) The Chief Referee will convey to the lifter, by gesture if necessary, the reason why the start/squat signal has not been given.
11) Fifteen minutes interval allowed between lifts.
12) Any record achieved to be added to individual lift and total.
13) Final round of the deadlift the bar must be cleaned before every attempt.
14) World Records can only be made at World, Continental, Regional and National Championships.
15) Percentages removed to attain a World Record.
(a) Should a lifter exceed the single lift benchpress record whilst lifting in a three lift powerlifting contest he/she may claim the single lift benchpress record.
(b) Should a lifter in a single lift benchpress contest exceed the three lift powerlifting record he/she cannot claim the powerlifting record.
NAPF News:
The 5th NAPF Powerlifting Championships will be held in Guatemala City, Guatemala during June, 2007. The hotel site has been secured. Robert Keller will be providing additional information soon.
USAPL News:
December 2- 2006 USAPL Maryland State Powerlifting Championships, Arnold, MD. Directions to the meet:
From Rt 50 (Annapolis)- take Rt 2 north and make a right onto College Parkway.
From Rt 695 (Baltimore)- take Rt 2 south and make left onto College Parkway.
December 9-10- 2006 USAPL Push-Pull National Championships & Eastern Regional Bench Press and Powerlifting Championships, Aston, PA
Paul Fletcher has released information concerning the 2007 USAPL Women's Powerlifting Championships. This years event will include three days of competition. If you plan to travel to Louisiana to attend, you are advised to make hotel reservations by January 1.
Robert Keller (954.790.2249) will be serving as Technical Secretary for the upcoming 2007 USAPL Women's Powerlifting Championships. If you would like to officiate at this meet or are available to assist in any other way, contact Robert Keller.
