Items of significant note include IPF's President, Norbert Wallauch's message which he discusses the suspensions of the Russian and Ukrainian Powerlifting Federations. He also notes that efforts are being made to simplfy the Technical Rules with additional attention being given to those governing the Bench Press. He talks at length concerning the use of bench shirts and the new fabrics manufacturers are now using and his concern that "it is often not the lifters who achieve new records but mostly the material that they use."
Also, this edition of the Newsletter introduces a new magazine which will be produced and distributed by the IPF. It will be called "The International Powerlifter."
